Recruitment Policy

Saffron Interactive recognises that privacy is important. We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal data. Personal data is defined as any information that is capable of identifying you as an individual.

This privacy notice sets out how Saffron processes your personal data in connection with our recruitment activities and only applies to the personal data of potential candidates or applicants who have applied or expressed interest in Saffron Interactive’s job vacancies or career opportunities.

This information may have been received directly by Saffron or been shared with us by professional recruiting firms that we engage with.

This notice does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and we may amend it at any time.

This policy was last update on 14/06/2018.

The types of personal data that we request from you and the ways that we process it are determined by the requirements of the country in which the role is based, and not the country in which you reside.

We usually collect personal data directly from you when you apply for a role with us, such as your name, address, contact information, work and educational history, achievements, any assignment or test results and entitlement to work in that specific country.  In addition to your role preferences we might also collect salary, location and other job preferences.

We may also collect personal data about you from third parties (such as your referees and prior employers) and from Saffron employees who interview you. It is your responsibility to obtain consent from these referees before sharing their personal information with us.  Saffron will only seek information from third parties if a job offer to you has been made and will inform you that it is doing so.

Sensitive personal data is a subset of personal data and includes ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or similar beliefs, trade union membership, health, sexual orientation, as well as other categories as allowed by law. We do not seek to obtain and will not collect such data about a candidate unless, once employment is offered, we may collect health information for the sole purpose of adjusting your work environment should you require it, or other sensitive personal data to ensure compliance with other regulatory obligations.

Saffron Interactive needs to process your personal data for legitimate business reasons, to comply with its legal obligations and prior to entering a contract with any candidates. We collect and use your personal data in order to:

  • identify and evaluate candidates for potential employment, as well as for future roles that may become available;
  • maintain record keeping in relation to recruitment and hiring;
  • verify your information and conduct reference checks;
  • communicate with you and inform you of career opportunities;
  • create and submit reports as required by law or regulation;
  • improve our recruitment process;
  • any reasonable adjustments to be made during the recruitment process;
  • ensure compliance with legal requirements

We will only process your personal data in accordance with this privacy notice, unless such processing conflicts with the requirements of applicable law, in which instance, the applicable law will prevail.

Data will be stored in a range of different places, including on a central recruitment record and on other IT systems, including email.

Your personal data may be accessed by Saffron recruiters and interviewers working in the country where the position for which you are applying is based, as well as by Saffron recruiters and interviewers working in different countries within Saffron Interactive.

Individuals performing administrative functions and IT personnel within Saffron may also have limited access to your personal data in order to perform their jobs.

If third parties are involved in the recruitment process they will be bound by our company’s terms of confidentiality and this Privacy Notice.

We have put in place mechanisms designed to ensure adequate data protection of your personal data that is processed by Saffron Interactive, including the transfer of your personal data to countries other than the one in which you are applying for. For individuals based within the EU the business will not transfer your personal data outside of the European Economic Area without your express permission.

As far as practicable Saffron has implemented policies and controls to try to ensure that data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by its employees in the performance of their duties. Only authorised personnel of Saffron are provided access to personal data, and these employees are required to treat this information as confidential.

If you accept employment with Saffron, the information collected will become part of your employment record and will be used for employment purposes. For information on how we handle your personal data as an employee of Saffron please read our Fair processing notice for employees.

If we do not employ you, we may continue to retain and use your personal data for a period of time (which may vary depending on the country) for system administrations purposes, to consider you for potential future roles, and to perform research.

We will hold your data on file unless you ask us to remove it.

You have the right to request access to the personal data that we have collected about you for the purposes of reviewing, modifying, or requesting deletion of the data.

If you would like to make a request to access, review, or correct the personal data we have collected about you, or to discuss how we process your personal data, please contact us at info@saffroninteractive.com .
