Create Your Own Future used in DWP’s Trailblazer Youth Guarantee scheme at the POSH
Peterborough United Foundation has launched Create Your Own Future, as part of DWP’s Youth Guarantee Trailblazer programme. This initiative explores innovative approaches to support young people to move into work, education, or training.
As one of the first Trailblazer projects, the Foundation’s use of Create Your Own Future represents a bold step forward in using cutting edge artificial intelligence to enhance a work adviser’s ability to deliver highly personalised employability support.
What is Create Your Own Future?
The platform enables participants to engage in natural conversations with a digital mentor, helping them reflect, build confidence, assess transferable skills, and set clear goals. It then provides tailored recommendations for training, work experience, or education.
Real-time analytics empower advisers at the Foundation and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), to monitor progress, understand motivation, and deliver timely interventions. This approach represents a new model for employability and upskilling. It fuses human empathy and digital intelligence with the scalability and personalisation of AI.
The Foundation’s CEO, Gill Wignall, said “Football clubs have a special place in their communities. We can reach and inspire people others can’t. By adding Create Your Own Future to our toolkit, we’re bringing cutting-edge technology directly into our community programmes. This approach offers a replicable model for other clubs, foundations, local authorities, and employability providers seeking to innovate and make social impact.”
The community hub was officially opened on 6th November by the Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Paul Bristow, alongside the Rt Hon Pat McFadden, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
The Youth Trailblazer
