Saffron Interactive’s ground-breaking digital employment support platform, Create Your Own Future, has been awarded Gold for best blended learning solution in the 2021 International E-Learning Awards.
The pioneering platform was supported by Nesta in partnership with the Department for Education. Initially developed to support those whose jobs are most at risk because of digital disruption, Create Your Own Future was broadened and accelerated to help those that had lost their jobs due to Covid-19.
Built using design-based thinking, Create Your Own Future introduces many technological innovations including an AI-enabled video mentor, who guides and offers personalised support to the user. The platform is underpinned by behavioural science and utilises Savickas’ Career Construction theory to lead the user through an exploration of their transferable skills, provides job-matching profiles and training recommendations, and encourages building action plans for goal completion. The result of the initial journey is a dynamic, evolving dashboard that keeps the user engaged with nudges, notifications and game mechanics. All this sits alongside human support, aiding work coaches to target their time and expertise towards positive outcomes.
Create Your Own Future has offered invaluable support to hundreds of users. With over 51,120 minutes spent in the platform, many individuals are now on the journey towards long-term, sustainable employment.
To receive this recognition for ‘Blended Learning’ from the International E-Learning Association endorses the value of the project and the impact of its development. Noorie Sazen, Saffron’s CEO, remarked, “We are thrilled to have been awarded Gold for this programme. The tool is pioneering within the public sector and we are extremely proud to lead the way within digital employment support. To be recognised by the IELA for this project, particularly during the current climate, is a huge achievement”.
The platform is continuing to provide support for individuals and Saffron are working to constantly refine the user experience and its effectiveness. Saffron are also discussing bespoke versions of the platform with numerous providers, to further expand its reach.
