Upcoming webinar to showcase Saffron Interactive and AVA’s award winning Digital Prevention Platform

This Thursday 11 December at 3pm GMT, MEDEAnet will host a free webinar to showcase the winners of this year’s MEDEA Awards and interview the successful entrants. AVA (Against Violence and Abuse) and Saffron Interactive will be participating as winners of the MEDEA Professional Production Award.

The aim of the EU-funded MEDEA Awards is to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of media (audio, video, graphics and animation) in education. The awards also recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning resources. Just two main awards are presented each year, and the Digital Prevention Platform was selected from amongst 244 entrants from across Europe.

The free webinar will showcase the mobile-optimised platform and experiential elearning, which is the culmination of five years of research by AVA into how to best prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) in schools and other youth settings. The webinar will offer up to 50 attendees the chance to ask questions and contribute to the discussion around digital prevention.

The webinar will offer participants:

  • Insight into the background and thinking behind the Digital Prevention Platform
  • A demonstration of the platform and the unique approaches adopted
  • The chance to ask more about how they can get involved in preventing VAWG

‘This is an opportunity for those who are interested in the project to find out a bit more and ask questions directly to the people behind it,’ says Toby Harris, creative lead at Saffron. ‘This project is an impressive achievement not only in instructional design for a sensitive topic, but also a feat of socially-driven knowledge management. It’s a chance to learn what goes into a viral campaign which is already having an important influence on national guidelines.’

Places on the webinar are limited, and online registration is available here.
