The role

We are currently looking for a talented developer to join our expanding team in central London. We are looking for someone who, working in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, will help deliver our creative and engaging solutions. The ideal candidate will also be able to work with server-side technologies (PHP and MySQL) to help build our learning platforms. You will work as part of a project team and will be expected to contribute to the learning design and delivery of the experience from project kick off to final build.

You will be focused and driven with a fundamental belief in quality. You will need to be willing to learn, with a pragmatic approach and passion for creating great user experiences that favour a clear and simple design.

Responsibilities and duties

• Developing interactive content and platforms using a range of technologies
• Building solutions to work cross-device and cross-browser
• Creating designs that focus on usability and accessibility
• Delivering the highest quality solutions that demonstrate Saffron’s innovation
• Contributing to the project team to suggest improvements to the overall design
• Advocating best practise standards for coding and design
• Proficiency in Saffron’s development tools and processes
• Taking responsibility for quality, whether that’s testability, UX or architecture

Qualifications and skills

• Knowledge and practical experience of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• A minimum of a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject
• Ability to write re-usable and maintainable code
• Self-motivated with high attention to detail
• A passion to learn and develop professionally
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Time management and the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong eye for design
• An understanding of PHP and SQL is an advantage
