CIR Business Continuity Awards 2017

Saffron Interactive’s work with Deutsche Bank announced as Business Continuity Award winner

Deutsche Bank, one of the foremost European banks, has been announced as winner of a 2017 CIR Business Continuity Award for Initiative of the Year. The nomination comes for the work Saffron designed with Deutsche Bank for an innovative business continuity simulation.

The business continuity training, developed jointly by Saffron and Deutsche Bank, used an innovative and engaging immersive simulation to train Deutsche Banks’s Information and Resilience Risk Management team in maintaining the safety of the bank’s staff and the smooth running of its operations in the event of an external disaster. The programme had to be direct, hands-on training that would cement the team’s understanding of the Business Continuity programme and which could be applied to any hazard, irrespective of the cause.

Despite the course initially only being written for Information and Resilience Risk Management experts, it was such as success that it was soon made available to all the bank’s employees, and the Business Continuity Award vindicates the industry-leading approach to its designing and delivery.

“This award is testament to Saffron’s on-going innovation and creativity” says Karim Ladak, COO of Saffron. “What was requested was a rudimentary elearning course. What we delivered is a ground-breaking 30-minute experience that assesses learners against three core competencies required in a crisis. Game mechanics underpin the learning design and provide personalised feedback that encourages the learner to practice and improve their responsiveness so that they can make a difference in a real situation.”

Now in their 19th year, the Business Continuity Awards, hosted by CIR Magazine, recognise those business continuity, security, resilience and risk professionals whose innovative strategies and industry savvy make them stand out above the rest. The winner was determined by an independent judging panel and announced at the renowned Business Continuity Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony on 8 June 2017 at the prestigious London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square

It’s not the first time Saffron have been recognised for their work in crisis management, having won the 2013 External Project of the Year Award at the IT Training Awards for their blended programme created for Heathrow Express.

Saffron Interactive will be presenting a seminar on security awareness, including their award-winning business continuity insights, at the upcoming 2017 Learning Technologies Summer Forum (13/06). Registration for the event is free and available on the event website.
